Roger Foxwell Hypnotherapist NLP and EFT Practitioner Roger Foxwell has worked as a professional hypnotherapist for almost twenty years and in that time has built up a busy following of clients based around his practice in Glasgow. Having originally trained as a violinist and played professionally with many of the leading orchestras in the country he decided he could use his experience as a performer to help other musicians get the best from their performances and techniques. This idea led to a series of innovative workshops for musicians named Music In Mind which he presented at various Universities and musical establishments. Music In Mind was very well received but Roger wanted to know more and to extend his knowledge. He decided to take a hypnosis course to find out more about how the brain and mind could help one make even more powerful and empowering changes and also reach higher states of awareness.
He soon found this such a fascinating subject that he signed up for a second course in hypnotherapy, this time with the prestigious London College Of Clinical Hypnosis closely followed by an intensive training course in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) led by NLP cofounder Richard Bandler and world renowned hypnotist Paul McKenna. He soon found people were asking him to help them with a variety of issues and so a hypnotherapy practice was born. Now clients come from all over Scotland and even as far afield as Manchester and London for help with a wide range of problems.

Roger is constantly upgrading his techniques and adding appropriate techniques such as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) to his repertoire. Many professional sports people and musicians come to improve their own skills and Roger’s expertise in performance plus his therapy credentials mean that clients can enhance their skills using his unique performance enhancement techniques and resolve any personal issues to help them perform to their highest level all in one place. Although he has a special interest in performance enhancement Roger is regularly and successfully working with clients with problems such as stress, anxiety and phobias as well as stopping smoking and weight issues.
In fact there are few areas that cannot benefit at the very least from the sense of relaxation and wellbeing one can gain from the experience of hypnosis. But much more than that the positive results that Roger sees on a daily basis as clients often resolve issues that they have had for many years in just one or two sessions make hypnosis a wonderful tool with which to help encourage amazing change in people’s lives. To contact Roger and find out more call 0141 571 1138 or email roger@rogerfoxwell.co.uk
For anyone looking for help with this condition it may well be wise to take a holistic approach by also working alongside people skilled in muscular rehabilitation. However since modern scientific research has proven how plastic are brains are, with the right techniques it should be possible to create new neural pathways that will be just as efficient as the old ones when they were functioning correctly. Also there are generally psychological issues involved and I would always use EFT and Hypnotherapy to clear any past conditioning and to help deal with the intensely distressing feelings likely to be experienced when one finds oneself unable to perform at a previously high level of expertise.
Another treatment is Botox but apart from it s patchy results I would suggest it cannot treat the core of the issue. It is important to get a correct diagnosis and it may be that Focal Dystonia can be mistaken for simple overuse of the muscles where in fact the problem lies not in the hand, arm or lips but in the neural connections that feed the required information to the muscles.
